Windy Days for Duct Tape Tofino

Viktor Davare has been photographing Vancouver Island moments for six years. Last weekend he turned his lens on surfers at the Vans Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational. The event took place on South Chesterman amid mad white caps, creative longboarding and plenty of smiles.

The contest was fully focused on innovative and interesting maneuvers, as single-fin boarders hit up party waves and attempted fun tricks like mid-wave board swaps.

Here’s Viktor’s take on the event:

“Its about flying, dancing and surfing.”

If you like these surf images, captured by the talented Viktor Davare, make sure to catch his exhibition telling stories about the beauty of nature and wildlife, May 14-28, at Whyte’s Framing & Gallery 1225 Lazo Road, Comox (open Tues-Sat, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.).
