People came from all over the world to attend the Canadian national surf championships at the Rip Curl Pro 2016 in Tofino.

I reconnected with at least one person I hadn’t seen since the last competition [22:44], interview a couple taking in their first surfing event as spectators and even go into the full play-by-play right from the beach as recent Tuff City Radio guest and Tofino local Pete Devries faces off [47:15] against Californian Kevin Schulz (I give the windswept beach a unique Frequency Horizon sheen).

“I’m proud of myself for sure considering the conditions, because it was pretty tough,” said one young surfer following a podium worthy performance. [22:33]
